Brush and Palette Knife Painting

Brush and Palette Knife Painting

The focus of this session will be how to proceed from what to paint and how to start and end a painting with an emphasis on color theory, value and shape, edges, space and flat painting.  Color and temperature, negative and positive space, volume and mass, form, tone, blocking in, using elements of design and principles of composition.  We will also learn how to apply paint using the brush and palette knife.

For those who have a style of their own, you will learn how to advance your painting quality.  There will be time spent with each student and discussions along with the time for questions and answers.  We will have a critic of our work at the end of each class.  There will be a positive environment.  Technique and expression of content will be emphasized.
