As a patrol officer, LT William C. McLeod started his career with the City of North Myrtle Beach on August 2, 2010. LT McLeod became an explorer advisor in 2011 and the lead Advisor in 2014. LT McLeod is one of the department's Defense Tactic Instructors and Police Training Officer, a former member of the NMB Alcoholic Enforcement Team. LT McLeod is a National Crime Prevention Practitioner and RAD women's self-defense instructor. LT McLeod supervises Alpha Day Squad as a patrol sergeant and the NMBPD Training Division before being promoted to lieutenant. LT McLeod is one of the Public Safety Department's Chaplains. 

LT McLeod has a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University and a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary. On top of his work at the City of NMB, LT McLeod is the Associate Pastor at Chapel by the Sea Baptist located in the Cherry Grove area of NMB. LT McLeod was awarded the Director's Distinguished Service Award in 2015 and was honored with the Advisor of the Year award from the South Carolina Association of Law Enforcement Explorers in 2017, Public Safety Officer of the Year in 2017, Officer of the Year awards from VFW post 10804 in 2018, and the Cal Leonard Award from the NMB Optimist Club in 2018. LT McLeod was the past state president of the South Carolina Association of Law Enforcement Explorers.

LT McLeod has been married to Angela McLeod for 26 years. Together, they have two daughters, Alexis and Maggie. In his spare time, LT McLeod likes to spend time with his family, reading, and watching movies.
