ABSENTEE VOTING AND THE MARCH 16 NORTH MYRTLE BEACH RUNOFF ELECTION
The following information was provided to us by the Horry County Voters Registration & Election Office in Conway:
-- If you requested an absentee ballot for the March 2 special election, and you confirmed with a checkmark that you also want a runoff ballot, an absentee ballot automatically will be mailed to you.
-- If you did not request a runoff absentee ballot, but want one sent to you, please go to
www.scvotes.gov, fill out the required application, then send it to the address given as soon as possible. The Horry County Voters Registration & Election Office will mail a ballot to you. Fill it out and return it to that office ASAP. Please be aware that absentee ballots must be in the hands of the Election Commission no later than 7:00 pm on March 16. Same-day postmarks do not count.
-- If you want to cast an absentee ballot in person, the Horry County Voters Registration & Election Office hopes to be able to open in-person absentee voting in its Conway office on Friday, March 5. HOWEVER, they do have to wait for the State to program the database to be used in the runoff election, so please contact the Voters Registration & Election Office in Conway before heading there on Friday. The phone number is (843) 915-5440.
The Horry County Voters Registration & Election Office is very good about sharing their plans with municipalities engaged in elections, and we will post their updates for this runoff election on this Facebook page.
